Position:        Sr. Engineer - Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and minimize machine downtime.
• Maintain equipment such as pumps, compressors, gearboxes, motors, conveyors, reactors, furnaces, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and other process equipment.
• Conduct regular inspection of machinery and identify potential failures.
• Prepare and maintain preventive maintenance schedules, checklists, and maintenance records
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely maintenance and smooth plant operations.
• Supervise maintenance technicians, fitters, and external contractors.
• Ensure proper alignment, lubrication, fitting, and installation of mechanical equipment.
• Maintain adequate inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and consumables.
• Analyze recurring breakdowns and implement root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
• Assist in equipment installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement projects.
• Follow company safety procedures, SOPs, PPE requirements, and statutory guidelines.
• Maintain maintenance reports, breakdown history, and equipment records.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability, productivity, and maintenance cost

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical maintenance.
• Good understanding of pumps, gearboxes, bearings, valves, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting and RCA.
• Knowledge of shaft alignment, coupling, lubrication, vibration, and bearing maintenance.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and P&IDs.
• Good team-handling and communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office/Excel and maintenance documentation.
• Experience in a chemical, metal, refinery, manufacturing, or precious-metal processing plant will be preferred

Required Qualification: - Diploma/B.E/B.Tech - Mechanical
