Job Description:

Position:      Executive/Sr. Executive - Purchase

Location:      Silvassa

Experience:   3 - 7 Years

Industry:      Packaging 

Responsibilities:

  • Source plastic raw materials such as PP, HDPE, LDPE, PET, PVC, ABS, masterbatches, additives, and packaging components.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers for resins, moulds, tooling, packaging, and consumables.
  • Float RFQs/RFPs, conduct technocommercial negotiations, and finalize supplier contracts.
  • Ensure cost competitiveness through benchmarking and alternate supplier development.
  • Build and maintain longterm relationships with approved suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for capacity planning, lead time optimization, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Work on cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternative materials, and localization.
  • Track raw material price trends (petrochemical-based resins) and recommend sourcing strategies.
  • Support annual cost negotiations and budgeting activities.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, R&D, and Finance teams to ensure material readiness.
  • Support new product development (NPD) and trials by arranging samples and pilot materials.
  • Ensure smooth PO execution and resolve material shortages or quality issues.
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in systems.
  • Maintain sourcing documentation, contracts, supplier records, and MIS reports.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive results by optimizing resources thereby contribution to organizational drive of cost optimization
  • Establish operational excellence by initiating energy and cost saving projects in the plant towards sustainability objectives aiming for continual improvements
  • EHS: Align activities related to corporate and Crown Objectives on Environmental Health and Safety

Required Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of quality tools and testing methods
  • Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, etc.)
  • Understanding of packaging materials (plastic, paper, metal, etc.)
  • Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Word)

Required Qualification: - Diploma/B.E/B.Tech - Plastics

Salary :- Upto 6.00 LPA
