Job Description:

Position:        EHS Manager

Location:        Vapi

Experience:    8 - 10 Years

Industries:     Chemical

Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Environment Protection Act, and Hazardous Waste Rules
  • Coordinate with Gujarat Pollution Control Board and other authorities
  • Maintain licenses, permits, and statutory records
  • Safety Management
  • Develop and implement safety policies, SOPs, and permit systems (PTW, LOTO, confined space)
  • Conduct risk assessments (HAZOP, JSA)
  • Promote safety culture across the plant
  • Incident Management
  • Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Maintain incident reports and records
  • Environmental Management
  • Monitor air, water, and waste parameters
  • Manage ETP/STP operations
  • Ensure safe disposal of hazardous waste
  • Occupational Health
  • Monitor workplace exposure (chemicals, noise, dust)
  • Ensure PPE usage and compliance
  • Conduct employee health check-ups
  • Training & Awareness
  • Conduct EHS training programs for employees and contractors
  • Organize mock drills (fire, chemical spill, emergency response)
  • Audits & Certifications
  • Conduct internal and external EHS audits
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Prepare audit reports and corrective actions
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans
  • Coordinate with fire department and local authorities
  • Maintain emergency equipment readiness
  • Team Coordination
  • Lead EHS team and coordinate with production, maintenance, and HR
  • Support management in EHS decision-making
  • Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare EHS reports, KPIs, and dashboards
  • Maintain proper documentation for inspections and audits

Required Skills

Required Qualification: - B.Sc/M.Sc/ B.E/B.Tech - Chemistry + ADIS/PDIS
