Job Description:
Position: Dy. Manager/Manager - Purchase
Location: Bhuj
Experience: 10 -15 Years
Industries: Chemical
Responsibilities:
- Engineering Procurement
- Procure mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and MRO items
- Pumps, compressors, valves, heat exchangers
- Motors, cables, panels, transformers
- Instruments (flow, pressure, temperature, control systems)
- Handle procurement of spares for plant maintenance and shutdowns
- Manage capex/project procurement (new plant / expansion)
- Vendor Development & Management
- Develop OEMs, authorized dealers, and fabricators
- Evaluate vendors based on technical capability, quality, and cost
- Conduct technical discussions with suppliers along with engineering team
- Maintain approved vendor list (AVL)
- Techno-Commercial Evaluation
- Analyze technical specifications, drawings, BOQs
- Prepare comparative statements (techno-commercial)
- Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms
- Finalize purchase orders and contracts
- Project Procurement (Capex)
- Handle procurement for EPC projects, plant expansion, and installation
- Coordinate with project, engineering, and site teams
- Ensure timely delivery aligned with project schedules
- Cost Optimization
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through:
- Vendor development
- Import substitution
- Standardization of materials
- Monitor market trends for engineering equipment
- Inventory & Maintenance Support
- Ensure availability of critical spares to avoid breakdowns
- Coordinate with maintenance team for planning shutdown materials
- Optimize inventory levels of engineering items
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with technical standards and safety norms
- Manage documentation: PO, drawings, inspection reports
- Handle import documentation if required
- Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, Stores, Finance
- Resolve technical and commercial issues with vendors
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of engineering equipment & plant machinery
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of SAP MM / ERP systems
- Familiarity with EPC/project procurement cycles
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Required Qualification: - B.E/B.Tech - Mechanical
Salary: - Upto 20.00 LPA
