Job Description:

Position:         Lab Head

Location:        Vapi

Experience:    12 -14  Years

Industries:     Automobile

Responsibilities:        

  • Lead and manage laboratory operations across manufacturing plant.
  • Supervise and guide laboratory chemists and technicians.
  • Ensure standardize laboratory practices, testing procedures, and reporting systems.
  • Develop and implement SOPs and best practices.
  • Monitor and maintain plating bath chemistry for ABS, Nickel, Copper, and Chrome plating processes.
  • Oversee etching and activation processes for plastic electroplating.
  • Perform routine bath analysis (metal concentration, additives, pH, conductivity, temperature).
  • Ensure accurate chemical dosing and timely replenishment.
  • Monitor plating line performance and maintain process stability.
  • Identify and troubleshoot plating defects (peeling, adhesion issues, blistering, burning, uneven thickness).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce defects.
  • Ensure plating quality meets automotive standards and customer specifications.
  • Oversee testing for coating thickness, adhesion, corrosion resistance, and surface finish.
  • Support internal and external quality audits.
  • Maintain laboratory records, chemical logs, and analytical reports.
  • Prepare technical reports on bath performance and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO documentation requirements.
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of plating chemicals.
  • Maintain environmental compliance and coordinate with ETP operations.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and process improvements.

Required skills:

  • Strong expertise in plastic electroplating (ABS) with hands-on experience in Nickel, Copper, and Chrome plating.
  • Proficiency in plating bath chemistry control, chemical analysis, and defect troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949) and plating specifications.

Required Qualification: - B.Sc - Chemistry 

Salary: - Upto 10.00 LPA
