Job Description:
Position: Maintenance Head
Location: Umbergaon
Experience: 10 - 15 Years
Industries: FMCG
Responsibilities:
-
Plan annual shutdown schedule and activities
and disseminate to all concerned - Design preventive maintenance plan to avoid any untimely breakdown of critical equipment and plant machinery. This also includes solar panels, plumbing and civil repairs.
- List critical equipment in the plant and ensure that they are available with the Stores at all times
- Monitor energy consumption of the plant on a daily basis. Consciously aim to reduce energy consumption and enhance use and conversion of solar energy.
- Approve permits for any mechanical, electrical and/or instrumentation work/repair at the plant in conjunction with the Safety team.
- Manage, monitor and maintain the following equipment and utilities:-
- Electrical Power Distribution system of the plant alongwith the DG Set(we have 3 DG Sets of 500+500+250 KVA).
- Air Compressors (Both Oil Free & Lubricated type)-We have 2 Air Compressors of 600 CFM each
- AHU & HVAC Systems (HVAC system spread over 1 Lakh Sq Ft area)
- High Speed doors, rollers, conveyors and belts. (We have belt, roller and chain conveyors)
- All packaging machines (VFF-Multi-Head) and High Capacity Blenders (AZO)
- Solar Panels(1 Megawatt-Cleanmax), WTand STP
- Coordinate with Instrumentation and Calibration agencies for periodic calibration of equipment
- Coordinate inspection during construction, installation, maintenance, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications and codes
- Evolve permanent solution for 'repeat failure' cases in order to save on the recurring maintenance expenses.
- Coordinate and monitor new machinery installation and commissioning work and design and implement best form of customization possible as per the company's requirement and practical nuances.
- Preparation of Machine History Cards & Maintenance Cards-same should be displayed on the machine
- Prepare specifications for purchase of equipment
- Conduct field surveys and analyse data and trends to identify and correct power system problems
- Personally attend to major technical problems and breakdowns
- Prepare the Annual Maintenance Plan(AMP) in consultation with the Senior Management members, HODs and in alignment with the annual business goals and targets
- Assist the management in designing business goals and overall growth strategy by factoring technical inputs Plan, monitor and control power consumption through practical and innovative measures.
- Identify and keep ready contingency plans to meet unplanned technical challenges, stoppage of work and/or technical snags. At no time should the organisation suffer financially because of equipment failure.
- Foreseeing areas of defects, conducting root cause analysis, cost benefit analysis, CAPA to rectify the issues.
- Establish statistical process control activities (as per the guidelines of the ERP in case valid in certain cases) and carry out Breakdown Analysis and study additonal consumption of power and utilities
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action. Should have short term (2-3years) and long term (3-5 years) plans.
- Assist Production Team in preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to be prepared by 15th of Mar every year (Apr to Mar cycle).
- Execute energy saving and technology upgradation interventions after getting due appoval from the management.
- Ensure prepartion, availability and maintenance of critical maintenance stores/equipment is maintained by the Stores in respect to the 'Minimum Reorder Level'(MRL).
- Create, monitor and review department wise costing & report it to the management every month
- Prepare Maintenance Budget (Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation ) for the year and submit by 15th of March every year.
- Monitor the budgets, analyse the variance from the established budget and the reasons for those variances and report to the management
- Ensure that MIS reporting to the management is complete, within timelines, accurate and truly reflects the technical health of the business.
- Ensure timely adherence of all statutory compliances to statutory authorities like GPCB, Electricity Board, Water Works, etc.
- Ensure that adequate and practical safety measures are adopted at the plant.
- Must raise the alarm to the HODs and/or the senior management in case there is gross violation and imminent safety threat seen to the organisation Liaise with electrical board of authorities, Statutory compliance authorities, and consultants for project improvement & automation
- Ensure all details related to various statutory compliances, audits of compliances is maintained & provided in case of any audit/scrutiny Analyze all the reports especially in case of major deviations and discuss the same with the management for immediate action planning
- Maintain a close working relationship with the external regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and cooperation with their requirements and to provide establish an effective liaison Ensuring compliance of SOPs and Safety norms in the Maintenance Team
- Daily Power Consumption Register and Periodic BreakDown Analysis Register, PM Schedule, Spares Issue and Replacement Register, Complaints Register, etc..should be maintained and updated
- Prepare MIS and presentations for presentation to the Board on a monthly basis
- Handle all internal audit queries in terms of documents, comments on observations and settlement on Maintenance issues.
- Direct, supervise and develop the Maintenance Team to achieve assigned targets & create happy internal customer relationships by carrying out prompt maintenance service and always keeping the machines in a 'production ready' state
- Monitor, equip the team to monitor themselves & engage in constant performance discussion to identify gaps and improve performance (as per Sanimo's PMS cycle) Create a succession plan in order to build strong
- second line leadership competencies
- Develop oneself and team through organizational initiatives like coaching, training, continuous feedback session, etc
Required Skills:
- Awareness of the complete Production Process PLC and SCADA equipment knowledge Technical Testing & Equipment Calibration Knowledge Food Quality consciousness
- Knowledge of maintaining Large capacity blenders(AZO-Bhargav); multi head VFF packaging machines (Pakona, Starpack, Akash & Rui machines); Air Compressors (Lubricated & oil free), AHU and HVAC; ASRS, High speed doors/Conveyors/roller belts and suction lifts; Solar Panels; WTP and BMS (Building Maintenance System).
