Job Description:
Position: Manager - Production (Moulding)
Location: Vapi
Experience: 10 - 15 Years
Industries: Automobile
Responsibilities:
-
Production Planning & Execution
- Execute daily, shift-wise, and monthly production plans as per PPC schedule.
- Ensure optimum utilization of injection moulding machines, moulds, materials, and manpower.
- Monitor and achieve production output, cycle time, efficiency, and OEE.
- Minimize machine downtime, mould breakdowns, and production losses.
- Process Control & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to approved process parameters, setup sheets, Control Plans, and Work Instructions.
- Ensure process stability through SPC, parameter monitoring, and capability studies (Cp/Cpk).
- Control and reduce rejection, rework, and scrap.
- Ensure first-off inspection approval and controlled changeovers.
- IATF 16949 Compliance & Audit Awareness
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 requirements and customer-specific requirements (CSR).
- Implement process approach and risk-based thinking in moulding operations.
- Ensure risks identified in PFMEA are effectively controlled at shopfloor.
- Ensure change management (ECN / PCN) is followed for mould, material, process, or parameter changes.
- Support internal, customer, and certification audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Mould & Machine Management
- Coordinate with Tool Room for mould PM, breakdowns, and life monitoring.
- Ensure proper mould handling, storage, identification, and traceability.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for injection machines, robots, dryers, chillers, and auxiliaries.
- Support new mould trials, validation, and SOP stabilization.
- Material & Process Control
- Ensure correct raw material usage, drying parameters, batch traceability, and FIFO.
- Control material changeover, purging, and contamination risks.
- Monitor and optimize material consumption and wastage.
- Manpower Management & Training
- Plan and deploy shift-wise manpower effectively.
- Ensure operators are trained, competent, and aware of quality & safety requirements.
- Maintain skill matrix, training records, and competency evaluation.
- Promote discipline, ownership, and team engagement.
- Safety, 5S & EHS Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to machine safety, interlocks, PPE usage, and safe working practices.
- Implement and sustain 5S and visual management in moulding shop.
- Ensure compliance with EHS and statutory norms.
- Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction
- Drive cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Implement Poka-Yoke, Kaizen, and Lean manufacturing practices.
- Support VA/VE and cost reduction programs.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Quality, NPD, Tool Room, Maintenance, PPC, and Logistics for smooth operations.
- Support PPAP, customer trials, and new product launches.
- Ensure effective handover from NPD to mass production.
