Job Description:

Position:           Operations Manager

Location:          Aurangabad - Maharashtra

Experience:      15 - 20 years

Industries:       Polymer

Responsibilities:        

  • Develop, execute, and control daily, weekly, and monthly production plans to achieve volume, quality, cost, and on-time delivery targets.
  • Continuously monitor manufacturing operations and implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, throughput, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness while minimizing waste, scrap, and rework.
  • Plan and manage optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, utilities, and raw materials, ensuring uninterrupted production and balanced resource allocation.
  • Oversee inventory control for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, coordinating with Supply Chain and Logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and systems so that all products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal benchmarks.
  • Lead and promote a strong Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) culture, ensuring compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Drive incident investigations, root cause analysis (RCA), and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for safety, quality, and operational issues.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, reduce breakdowns, and maximize uptime of critical assets.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and execution for capacity expansion, process optimization, and technology upgrades.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, engineers, and plant operators in a 24x7 shift environment, fostering accountability, continuous learning, and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D for new product trials, scale-up, and commercialization, and work cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to align operations with business objectives.
  • Prepare and manage the annual operations budget, focusing on cost control across labor, utilities, maintenance, and raw materials.
  • Track, analyze, and report key operational KPIs such as OEE, productivity, manufacturing variance, safety performance, and quality metrics to senior management.
