Position:         Purchase Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Procurement Planning:
• Develop and execute procurement strategies for electronic components and materials.
• Forecast material requirements based on production schedules and inventory levels.
• Vendor Management:
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure best value procurement.
• Technical Evaluation:
• Review and interpret technical drawings/specifications to ensure correct component sourcing.
• Collaborate with design, R&D, and quality teams to validate component suitability.
• Order Processing:
• Issue purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Track and manage PO status, lead times, and delays.
• Cost Optimization:
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through alternate sourcing or bulk procurement.
• Benchmark supplier prices and maintain competitive pricing strategies.
• Compliance & Documentation:
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier contracts.
• ERP & Reporting:
• Work with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally) for procurement and inventory tracking.
• Generate procurement reports for management analysis.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of electronic components (e.g., semiconductors, PCBs, connectors, passive components).
• Familiarity with BOMs, technical datasheets, and sourcing platforms.
• Proficiency in ERP tools and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Good communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
