Job Description:
Position: Executive/Asst. Manager - Costing
Location: Piplod - Surat
Experience: 0 - 5 Years
Industries: Chemical
Responsibilities:
- Product & Process Costing:
- Calculate and maintain standard costing for products across multiple plants or production lines.
- Analyze actual vs. standard cost variances (material, labor, overhead) and investigate deviations.
- Perform process costing for continuous chemical production involving multiple stages.
- Inventory & Valuation:
- Monitor and validate raw material consumption, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inventory.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation as per accounting standards (AS/IND-AS) and internal policies.
- Reconcile inventory records with physical stock-taking reports.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Support preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cost planning exercises.
- Provide cost simulations for new product development, capacity expansions, or process changes.
- Management Reporting (MIS):
- Prepare monthly cost reports and variance analysis for management review.
- Generate plant-level cost KPIs (e.g., cost per unit, yield loss, conversion cost) for decision support.
- Cost Control & Efficiency:
- Identify areas of cost reduction or optimization in operations.
- Work closely with production, procurement, and R&D teams to drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Compliance & Audit Support:
- Ensure compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Cost Audit requirements (if applicable).
- Assist with internal and statutory audits, cost audits, and tax assessments related to costing.
- System & Process Improvement:
- Support automation of costing processes and integration with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).
- Help in maintaining cost master data and periodic updates based on BOM changes.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, process costing, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel, and working knowledge of SAP (CO module) or other ERP systems.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Required Qualification: - CA/CMA/M.Com
