Position:          Asst. Manager – Demand Planning

Location:          Ahmedabad

Responsibilities:

• Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
• Analyze product and key ingredients demand in order to develop purchase forecasts by week, month, and quarter at Global/Regional/Unit level.
• Validation of forecasts from group companies and ensuring statistically vetted forecast goes into system.
• Maintenance of all active SKU lists for finished goods and components, liaising with the factories to track availabilities of these goods.
• Reviewing ordering MOQ issues in alignment with purchase.
• Ensure all new product availability is made on time in order to have timely launches.
• Work with IT team to stream line the Demand Planning Process and bring in more efficiency in the system.
• Identification of slow moving/non-moving inventories along the supply chain and take this up with the group companies for liquidation.
• Generating MIS reports pertaining to Service Level/Sales Analysis.
• Active planning for New Product launches and follow-up for repeat orders.
• To support and execute inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stockholdings.
• Develops metrics to monitor inventory levels through regular reviews.
• Forecasts with market trends and fluctuations; offers recommendations for changes and improvements.
• Close coordination with Customers to enhance sales and avoid sales loss.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
• Strong Technical knowledge related to forecasting & demand planning.
• The incumbent should be very good at Excel.
• Should be well versed with ERP systems, preferably JD Edwards (Oracle).
• Able to deal with large data sets and determine patterns and trends.
• Must have very strong analytical skills.
• Should have strong written and verbal English language skills.
